As the Republic of Moldova is an immediate neighbouring country, many Ukrainians have come to Moldova – a large percentage have stayed a short while before continuing to other countries, however, many remained in the Republic of Moldova to stay near to their home country. Moldova has accepted – in percentage to their inhabitants – more refugees than any other country.
For up to 150 refugees, living in a house of the Diocese, the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta has resumed responsibility to cater for their food on all weekends as the kitchen is closed on weekends.
